The Quorum eLearning development team has been awarded a prestigious GOLD Award for Excellence for Social Impact Innovation from the Brandon Hall Group. The award recognizes the 2020 Quorum team’s development and dissemination of eight online microlearning experiences on COVID-19.

Background

In March 2020, when the world shut down due to COVID-19, thousands of early educators across the country kept working to care for the young children of front-line essential workers. These educators sought reliable research-based information about COVID in a manner that was accessible. So, they started to reach out to the Quorum eLearning team, as a trusted source, who responded by building a series of interactive short online modules. The eight online modules provided information on topics including what is COVID, talking to children about COVID, having a baby during COVID, and self-care for educators during COVID. The microlearning experiences were initially offered for free to over 100,000 early educators on the Quorum eLearning website. Today, several of the short modules are still free, and the eight experiences have also been packaged into a two-hour for-credit course available to members of the Quorum eLearning program, in English and Spanish.
